The Art of Coercion: Driving Traffic To Your Blog
Lifehacker turns us on to an Ezine article about getting more eyeballs on your blog. They have a few great pieces of advice and a few more I hadn’t thought of that I’m sure I’ll be employing sooner than later. (They curiously leave out the patently obvious ones involving threats of physical violence and pathologically lying about your blog’s content, however.)
Of the 16 tips, I tend to think the “Read and comment on other blogs” tip is one of your best bets. Commenting helps, not only in the search-engine-robotic-spiders-of-death-arena, but also because it showcases a bit of your ability to write while perhaps hopefully being either insightful or even engaging. Naturally, it’s a two-way street, and if you’re neither engaging nor insightful, or mostly come across as a jackass, you might find a well-positioned comment just the thing a reader needs to commit to avoiding your site forever.
