Ask Metafilter

I discovered Metafilter through my daily readings of Lifehacker. It’s a collaborative, community blog that allows users to post their own quips on interesting links, news articles, games and the like.

My favorite part of Metafilter is their question and answer section, Ask Metafilter. AskMeFi is a brilliant concept: Ask a large, incredibly varied, Google-savvy group of people a question, and get a variety of answers, oftentimes accurate, almost always interesting. Everything from “I am looking for a file management tool that will help me clear some space on the hard drive of my WinXP laptop.” to “Should I stay in my long distance relationship?,” all with meaningful and insightful answers.

If nothing else, it’s a great read if you like to learn something new every day, and explore what sorts of crazy information is available on the web. Reading is free, but creating an account (which I did today) has a one-time “donation” of $5.00. Well worth it, if you ask me.

In the end, this post (and its perfectly spot-on answers) completely made my day:
This one is kind of a long shot, but can someone tell me the name of this rock song based on my sloppy transcription of its notes?

Brilliance.
