Pocketsellout
Back in the day (2000) I was a fan of a lot of random sites that weren’t quite “blogs” or “journals” in a traditional sense, but rather more amusing recollections of the day’s events. One such place was Pocketpig.com.
The premise was simple: a girl drew everything she ate that day on her palm pilot and posted it alongside a short narration. There were even silly links and “vocabulary words” on the side. What’s not to like? Sometime around 2002 the site looked less like this (I actually remember this day), and more like this. I didn’t notice, however, because for some reason I’d stopped reading.
This morning, however, after a breif nostaligic moment of “wait, didn’t there used to be a food diary on Dumbrella?”, I did a quick search and found Sabrina’s most recent version of PocketPig. Not only are there no foodstuff drawings, she’s using a digital camera and writing about events. I don’t want events, I want to know what you ate! I was thoroughly dissatisfied.
Ah well. There’s no reason to get upset; things change and only sad people can’t get over that.
